YWAM Support Raising Newsletter August 2007
Support Raising Newsletter Tip:If you run out of material, you can do what I did in the last months newsletter and use someone else's! I basically just copied a bunch of stuff from an associates newsletter that he puts out. Sending something on a regular basis is always better than nothing.
'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' August 2007 '`'`'`'`'`'`' Bula !fname: It is impossible to really convey not only what itis like living in a developing country, but nowunderstanding how vital it is to have prayer supportfor the work missionaries do. Thank you for yourprayers and remembering us. Common sights as we live out our work for the Gospelhere: *Families loaded down with firewood walking down thedirt roads back to their homes to cook supper. *Beautiful smiling faces with many, if not most ofthem missing teeth. *Young men playing rugby on almost every open field. *Chickens, goats, pigs wandering around the villagesoften in and out of homes. (One church I preached hadchickens running through during the service :-) *Market stands full of fresh root crops, fruit, andlive animals sold at the side of roads everywhere. Such is a glimpse of life in Fiji for the averageperson. (Most of the world class resorts aretucked far away from the REAL Fiji.) The Church of Fiji is uniting in a powerful wayaround the IWT tour. In towns are villages pastors areastounded at how the body of Christ is pullingtogether in historic ways to see the KING proclaimed.Who would have thought our experience in battles in Rockford for church unity the Lord would useyears later, half way around the world in a povertystricken country! The military dictator is growing more brazen in hiscontrol of the country sending it further into economicruin and despair. This combination of events we are convinced will leadto the prophetically proclaimed move of the Holy Spiritcoming to Fiji. As I was walking, praying and meditatinglast week I realized for the first time we were doingsomething that I truly believed was IMPOSSIBLE withoutGod moving miraculously over the next few weeks. The constant pressure of warfare is the most severewe have ever lived through. The powers of darknessmust be threatened about how this wave of revival isnot only going to impact Fiji, but the rest of Asia and the end times harvest as we see young peoplediscipled and sent. Between the cultural adjustments, feeling homesick forour family back in IL, the on-going attacks of the enemy, we can honestly say we are at peace knowingwe are in God's will, and that He ALWAYS leads usin triumph. The next 2 months will be intense with our workload. PLEASE make a special effort to hold usup in prayer during this time.
