'`'`'`'`' Johnson Family Missions '`'`'`'`' '`'`'`'`' July/August 2008 '`'`'`'`'`'`' Dear !fname: May you be greatly encouraged in the Lord today! Know that your labor and warfare makes a differenceto the Kingdom. We can never lose!!! We'll update with a few quick points in a minute, but felt I just wanted to encourage you with abrief family update. Kay & I appreciate all thosewho love and support us, none more than ourimmediate family. They sacrifice also by nothaving Mom & Dad, Grandma & Grandpa, Son & Daughter-in-lawwith them in Rockford. Hanna has also chosen tohave a giving attitude about our lives journey. Last year in Fiji was covered in much grace, butit was a hard year for her and she gave up a lotthat a "normal" 11 year old girl would have; friends, school, her siblings, grandparents, a year of soccerat a critical time, etc. There was very little forher except for home schooling alone with mom and tohelp us with the IWT tour when she could. She wasa TROOPER! As we are adjusting to New Zealand culture and continuework in Fiji and prepare for a huge IWT campaign inthe Philippines and our other work here, God haschosen to bless Hanna for her sacrifice last year. We were able to put her in a private Christian Schoolhere as they are subsidized by the government. Whata blessing! This was her first time in a formal school, and now would have to adjust not only to that change, but do it in a foreign culture, AND with no friends to start with a much bigger challenge than her brother and sisters faced. The sacrifice is on-going as she, as well as Kay & I, wereunable to come to Heather & Luke's wedding. (Thank Youwill never be enough for those who made that day sospecial for them. Kay & I often are in tears of joyand amazement over our extended "family" back in Rockford.) So - We just got back from our parent-teacherconferences and they love Hanna - I mean really thinkshe is special! Her Bible teacher told us she has a "rare gift" of being able to assimilate her faith andeven challenge him respectively in class. He loves it!Her English teacher was amazed at a story the classwas assigned to re-write the story of the Good Samaritan. She said it was the "best in the class" and wonderedif we had helped her. (We hadn't :-) She is playingup a year at her school in soccer. Even though she isin the 8th grade, she is playing with the Freshman, and leading the league in scoring after the first 5 weeks. Her coach was gone last week and the Varsity coachtook their practice and asked Hanna to start practicingwith the varsity girls also! Why I am sharing all this? (It is more than just a parentbragging on his kid.) I truly believe part of the reasonGod led us to this side of the world after the most intenseyear of spiritual warfare we had ever gone through was thathe saw Hanna's heart through it all, and she is now in aseason of reaping. She sowed obedience and sacrifice, she now is reaping blessing and favor. Be encouraged, if you are in a season of sacrifice, warfare, or just hard "gutting it out" obedience -God sees it all. He is not a hard task master. He not only is in control, but already is excitedabout the plans He has in store to bless you withan abundant harvest because of the seeds you areplanting now! He will see you through. There isblessing on the other side for you also!!! '`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`''`'`'`'`' *We continue to work on follow up in Fiji.
