Hi !fname:

Grace and Peace to you in Jesus name!We trust you have a great 4th of Julyweekend celebrating the FREEDOM we love, and that was purchased for us at a greatcost. Our spiritual freedom throughJesus, and our political freedom throughthe many veterans of many wars throughthe years, including the current War onTerror.

This is a long note, but please take thetime to read the whole thing!

We willbe home in late August/early September, and returning to the base for DTS (DiscipleshipTraining School) in September.

Although we live by faith and need to trust God, it is always fun and assuring when we get a confirmation of something we believe the Lord has spoken to us and have begun to walk out in the faith. To make a long story short, when the Lord called Kay & I to "Go" into missions, we felt a word from the Lord to ask Him to give us 30 "inner circle" supporters. He told us that they would be like David’s Mighty men. (You can read more about that on our website: http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org - specifically this page:

http://www.johnsonfamilymissions.org/david.htm)

Amoung other things, Kay & I have been saturating ourselves with books having to do with missions. Almost a year after leaving our home and taking our first steps towards full time missionary work, I (Curt) am reading Loren Cunningham’s book: "Daring to live on the Edge" It was so affirming to read that the head of the missions organization that we are formally becoming a part of has espoused the missions strategy the Lord gave us!

Please read these excerpts. If you are already one of our 30 "Mighty Men" that have commitment to faithful monthly giving - Thank You! If you are not, but would like to connect with us in the spirit of what Loren shares below, let us know as we journey forth. We have about ½ of the this group now and are asking the Lordfor the privilege and blessing of filling the ranksof the 30. As Curt is in the Rockford area from mid August to mid September preaching and ministering, please pray that the Lord would speak to other hearts so our group of 30 would be filled.

Excerpts from "Daring to live on the Edge"by Loren Cunningham, Founder of YWAM

From Chapter 8 "Missions Support, The Jesus Way."

A 30/30 plan for Missions Giving

"What if every missionary were to set a goal to get thirty people who would each be responsible for only one day’s expenses for him to work for the Lord? He would have thirty people whose hearts were following their treasure, praying for him, believing in him, and backing him up when he needed encouragement.

What if some emergency came up? Some crisis that demanded extra prayer? That missionary could contac his thirty people for prayer, and those thirty would probably have a circle of influence of ten other people. They could each ask tem people to pray, meaning three hundred people could quickly be praying for him.

Jesus was supported by friends - not by a group or an impersonal fund, just friends. There is nothing unbiblical about impersonal means of missions support. But there are many benefits to having people directly supporting people:

*Those who are giving have the joy of participating in someone’s ministry. Heart links are formed between people, not between organizational structures.

*There is direct accountability between the missionary and his or her supporters.

*The giver gains direct and timely knowledge of what is happening in missions through the missary’s regular communication.

*Heart-link giving is not as apt to be affected by recession or hard times."

Would you prayfully consider supporting us in missions?

#1. Monthly. By making a commitment monthly we knowthat you will think and pray for us on a regular basis!"Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."We need and want many partners whose hearts will beyoked with ours! The amount isn't as crucial as knowingyou are with us on this journey.

#2. One time gifts. We will need significant onetime gifts in the various outreaches the Lord leads uson. Please consider each outreach and pray if theLord would have you participate. Our next outreachis FIJI.

Our budget for our Missions work in 2006:

$12,400 - 3 month YWAM missions School and 2 month Outreach.

The plan the Lord gave us is that Curt's business wouldtake care of the Johnson's personal living expenses, andwe were to raise support for our Missionary Work. Please pray about linking arms with us for 2006! FCF has graciously allowed us to have our fundsrun through them until we are "official" with YWAMsometime next year.

Make your tax deductible gift out to:

Forest City Fellowship

1300 17th St.

Rockford, IL 61104

Attn: Johnson Family Missions

Although FCF will notify us of your giving, please alsolet us know. We will be starting an intercessory monthlyemail for our giving partners. This will be confidentialand we will share the nitty gritty prayer requests andwhat we are battling on a monthly basis to fulfill thedestiny set before us. Although we have just startedthis new season, there have already been battles andwe need committed warriors with us!
