The last 16 months have gone by so very fast.It won't be long until we are all rejoicing inHeaven together! Until then, we move forwardfor what the Lord created us for in this life :-)

We have finished our formal missionary trainingin Hawaii and all of us (Curt, Kay, and Hanna)will be returning to Illinois for the Holidaysbefore we leave for the nation of Fiji. We willbe moving there in January - we don't know howlong - at least the next few years. Ywam isallowing us to go back to Illinois to see ournew grandson before we leave. We hope to see all our children while in IL.Holli will be returning from her missions tripto Namibia Africa. We will share her story onour web site when she returns.

Heather is doing well in Idaho with a good joband seeking the Lord for her future.

Heath will have a break between semesters at ISUand spend time with us over the holidays.

We will be staying with Heidi and Andy anddoing as much babysitting as they allow us to :-)

Fiji is in the midst of a crisis right now onthe verge of another coup. Please pray. Thiswill should not delay us in going. Whenwe tell people we are going to Fiji, many ofcourse only have the exotic resorts as a frameof reference. There are some wonderful vacationspots in Fiji, but these resorts are tucked awayfrom the rest of the country - most of Fiji is very poor, but God is doing a work there. Pleaseread over our website to catch a glimpse of whatwe will be doing and how the Lord wants to bringHis Kingdom not only to Fiji, but use it as asending base for disciples to impact the PacificRim, Asia, including the almost 1 BILLION Hindus in India - most of who have not heard the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus.

Please ask the Lord if He would want you tosupport us. All YWAMers live by faith and noone is paid. If so, please read this note from the accounting department from our base:

"To donate to a missionary or a fund please

1) make checks payable to "YWAM".

2) Please write their name on a SEPARATE piece of paper or sticky note as follows

"for the support of ...(full name of missionary)in ...(city & country)"

For U.S. citizens this is very important as the IRS will not consider it as a donation to our non profit organization if the person's name is on the check & thereby the gift will not be considered tax deductible.

Try to get checks to us by the 24th or the previous Friday if the 24th is on a weekend. Any check received after the 24th will be processed on the 1st of the following month. We will mail you a receipt once the check has been processed.

Just a quick note regarding our plans tomove to Fiji in January. We have had someof you ask, so we wanted to reply, and thank you for your concern. We are in Illinoisnow until we leave for Fiji.

Fiji has been taken over by a military coup.We thank God there was no blood shed. Itis a very complicated scenario rooted inracism and greed. You can follow the newsif you want here:

Kay, Hanna, and I have tickets to leave forFiji on January 13th. We plan on departingas scheduled. We know the safest place tobe is in God's perfect will.

As we have followed and studied their cultureand the recent developments, we believe thatthere will not be any bloodshed. We also knowthat the nation depends upon relations withAustralia and New Zealand to survive, so anyand everyone, regardless of race or politicalpersuasion will treat non-fijians well.

This episode is truly unfortunate as many ofthe poor and "middle class" will suffer ascountries either forbid, or discourage tradeor tourism with Fiji. (Fiji's middle class asa third world country is "poorer" than most ofour "poorest." The median income far less thanthat of those in Mexico.)

The only scenario we can foresee that would delayour departure is if the situation deteriorates further and the US temporarily suspends itscitizens to travel to Fiji.

On the positive side, these events can and willbe used by God to further the citizens of Fijito cry out for help and be open to the one andonly Living Lord in Jesus!
