Text Messaging
Very simply, text messaging is a message you punch into a cell phone to send to another cell phone. This type of communication, although limited in many ways, is instantaneous. That is the great advantage. As you journey forward in your work you will find that time becomes a more precious commodity. When you start adding staff or family responsibilities, even more so. Text messaging can be a wonderful tool to keep you in touch with your key supporters in a personal way without taking any time. We all have those 5 or 10 minutes of waiting somewhere - bus stop, appointment, etc. Take advantage of those minutes and text message someone. Another great time saver is sending the same text to a group of people - all in one touch! You might be waiting to preach, or go on an outreach, etc. Send a group text message to your supporters for reinforcing prayer. Anything you can do to assist them in feeling that they are part of the journey is great. You will want to look into mobile plans that allow texting or can add it for a minimal monthly fee. For on-going communcation with your team and family, this option is usually cheaper than actually talking on your phone, which can help your budget. Happy Texting!
