Support Raising Tips from Sweden

One of our FYi subscribers shares some support raising tips from Sweden:

There is a myth that it is impossible to raise support in Sweden. First of all I want to declare that it is a lie! Yes, people are used to the state taking care of every need, and there is a large social security system in Sweden, but that does not say that people do not want to be a part of a vision to see their own or another nation reached! I haven't tried the binder-with-vision-and-pictures-talks (that to me feels a bit impersonal) but I have asked people who I know believe in me and what I do to be a part of what I do through financial and prayer support. As a tool to share my vision I have used a monthly newsletter with 3 small pictures and information or stories of encouraging nature. I think they have been appreciated for the most part. Several have gotten them for years without contacting me or supporting, but then all of a sudden they invite me to speak in their church or wants to support me. It is so amazing! If people believe in you they will support you! And personal communication is great. But I think that just because a newsletter has my name on it (but it is obviously database generated) does not make it more personal. It is all about meeting people, praying for them an contacting them when God tells you to and say what He wants you to. And if you don't "hear" anything just write: I'm thinking about you! or praying for you, how are you? Or something like that is better than nothing! And so much better than no communication at all! It is all about relationships! I don't know if this what the kind of information you wanted, but thank you for this site!
