Support A Missionary

Please read through these tips on how to support a missionary BEFORE you go looking! If you already have a missionary in mind to support - that is GREAT. We hope we can assist you in being a valuable part of that missionary's team. If you are looking for a missionary to support, we have a data base for you to do that, so keep reading!

If you want to skip ahead, then click and find your missionary.

1. Relationship Based:

The most meaningful support comes through relationships. Although I have gladly accepted money from strangers that wanted to support our work, the support that comes from those who know us well and believe in our calling means the most. If you are looking for a missionary to support, plan to really doubly bless them by getting to know them, even if it is simply long distace through email. By them being able to share their heart and passion with you, your funds will mean that much more to them. Look over the rest of the site on the guidance and wisdom a wise missionary uses to interact with their team. Missionary support raising friends and family.

2. Ongoing Support:

In light of tip #1 above, ongoing support means much to the missionary. Knowing that a supporter is standing with you month after month brings encouragement. It also helps in the planning and budgeting of missionary work.

One time gifts, and those who like to give them or are led by the Holy Spirit are essential. Our ministry would not survive if it were not for those who have felt prompted to supply needs that arise periodically in missions. So - if you are a person who gives one-time or occasional gifts, missionaries love them and you.

It is easier and somehow more natural to cultivate relationships with those who give monthly.

3. Communication:

Two way communication is so helpful and beneficial to the relationship of the missionary and the sender. No matter what the missionaries assignment there will be times of loneliness or discouragement. A professional missionary should be communicating regularly with you, but a senders communication back strengthens the whole relationship of support.
