Monthly Support Raising Routine

We just got notice of our monthly support, and as I was processing things, I thought it might be a good idea simply to share with our readers what we actually do, at a minimum, each month.

#1. We send an e-newsletter to our entire mailing list.

Your monthly support raising newsletter should be the foundation of your fundraising efforts. Send it out every month (or week, or bi-weekly) - be consistent. Be sure to include recent updates of ministry and family. Be sure to include in every newsletter how your supporters can get donations to you.

#2. We send a personal card or letter to those who gave this month.

Every month send out a personalized note to those who gave. Every month. Did I say every month? Yes.

This month, as in most we used a service we love to send out cards. It is easier and cheaper than buying cards and doing it manually.

Last month, having just arrived in New Zealand as our new base for the next few years, we decided to purchase cards here and send them. It is more money and time, but postcards from overseas can make a big impression, and be fun for children of your supporters.

#3. We call on the phone some of our TOP supporters.

We called 3 of our top supporters. By top supporters, I do not necessarily mean the biggest givers, but those we know hold us tight in their hearts and pray for us everyday. They are such an essential part of our team.

Be sure to look over or review our page on friends and family. as it gives some guidance to a monthly support raising routine.

#4. Send a special gift to a key supporter.

Almost every month there is a reason to send something special to one of our supporters. It could be a family event they are having such as a birthday, anivesary, or funeral. It could be that someone gave a special gift that month that was extra large or we knew it was a great sacrafice for them to do. We often will go online and have a gift sent. Our favorite service provides this function as well.

This is our monthly minimum support raising routine. We are showing gratitude and cherishing the relationships that the Lord has yoked us with for our journey.
