Missionary Training

Every missionary needs training. Often times there is a "catch 22" though when someone wants to get trained and enter the mission field. Missionary training takes time, so how can someone fund this transition? This is where you, the sender, can be a vital part to help the missionary cross this bridge.

Missionary Training - Transition

The transition time from when someone feels called into missions work, and then actually heading into the field can be the most difficult. Those called to support and send missionaries can be a great help. The sooner the missionary can get to the work, the better!

As a sender, by beginning your support immediately, you will help launch the work God put in a missionary's heart sooner. Missionary Training varies greatly upon the organizational affiliation and the work to be done, but is a significant first step into missions work.

Start your support NOW!

By starting to support your missionary as they transition, and through the training period, allows the fire and zeal to remain fresh in the missionary.

Missionary Training - On Going

Another aspect of a missionary's life, as with many professions, is that on-going education will either be required or help sharpen skills and effectiveness in the missionary work.

By staying committed in your support through these seasons will ensure successful service for the missionary. These seasons also will often create greater financial needs for the missionary during the training. They may need to raise travel and/or tuition expenses above and beyond their normal budget.

As a sender/support, if you can give extra or rally support for your missionary during these times, it will also be a great blessing to the missionary.

Encourage your missionary to get the training they need, count it as part of the work and vision you are yoked together to fulfill.
