IHOP - International House of Prayer

This web site is dedicated to missionaries that are required to raise their own support. International House of Prayer does an excellent job at preparing their missionaries for this endeavor, but we wanted to share freely with all our brothers and sisters, especially those partners in the Call2All. Call2All is a worldwide movement calling the church to a renewed, focused collaborative effort to complete the Great Commission.

As a missionary primarily devoted to IHOP, be sure to take the time to educate your supporters as to why you are deserving of support. In your newsletter, include scriptures that talk about the value of intercession. Share words or intercessions you did in your work and how the Lord answered them. Your task to raise support may be harder because it is a fairly new concept and not as tangible, so take extra effort in the education of your subscribers and supporters. Find out from your supporters what their heart is close to: a particular nation or people group, a certain mercy ministry like orphans, etc. When your prayers target or are involved in the area they have a heart for, let them know!

Perhaps my favorite fundraising and communications tool would be of special interest and use for those missionaries who call the USA home and want great contact with your supporters, REGARDLESS of where you are stationed in the world. (Click on "Mom" card above.) BTW - We, Curt & Kay Johnson, will be based in New Zealand for the next season with YWAM and plan to partake of the House of Prayer in Tauranga.
About IHOP . . .

On September 19, 1999 a prayer meeting began which continues to this day, from dawn to dusk and through the watches of the night, prayer and worship continues, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The prayer room is the heartbeat--the essence and the origin--of all that goes on at the International House of Prayer.

The IHOP vision

[Mike Bickle in interview with Charisma, July 19, 2007] Our vision was to establish worship teams who would lead us in 24/7 prayer. We established the IHOP staff according to the YWAM model of missionaries who raised their own support. We started with 20 full-time staff members on May 7. We met thirteen hours a day for the first four months. On September 19, 1999, we began to worship 24 hours a day and have continued in this way for eight years. The Lord promised in May 1983, we would eventually have 5,000 full-time staff members. Thus, we began to believe for a miraculous increase of intercessors to join us. We believed that we would train and send out these 5,000 people to start houses of prayer all over the world. Our vision now is to establish 100,000 houses of prayer across the Earth. We do not want them to use our name because we do not want an official network or ministry franchise. We want each house of prayer to join the ministries in their own city rather than join IHOP in Kansas City.
